Open Water Swim Boundry Park

Went to Boundry last night for the open water swim. Got off to a bad start when I ripped my wet suit on the catch in the changing tent. Thankfully it's not too bad and a small patch will repair it, but its annoying when you pay £300 and it gets damaged. I got into the water, put in my ear plugs, cap and glasses on, waded in to acclimatise. So far so good. Set off towards the first buoy, swimming well, looked up to find I had gone off course and couldn't get my stroke back. Struggled to the buoy and then didn't think I could get back so I swam to the far bank which was nearer and got out. Got changed and went home. Later, I thought I really should have just rested and tried again. I just have to get the hang of this, it's vital or I can't do my triathlon in September. One of the girls at work is going to swim with me next week, hopefully I will get somewhere then, I managed last time I swam with someone, maybe I just need the company.
