Manchester 100K

I didn't receive my entry pack, so I had to register again, so I have ended up with a very high number, not that it matters.I don't think I should have done this today, it was a lovely ride, through lots of countryside. But I am beginning to think that whoever designs these routes, deliberately picks a route with big hills, especially today near the end, two one after the other. I had to get off and walk. My shoulder was still sore, but I took the chance, I had barely done a quarter of the ride and my arm was numb. Stil, I was determined to keep going. I started at a good pace, head down, but then when my arm went numb, I just thought 'enjoy the ride'. It was a lovely day and the weather was kind to us. No rain and not too hot.
The 100k ride is only the smaller loop, the longer route is for the 100 mile ride. I know my limitations and 100 miles is too far for me - yet.
When I finished in just under 5 hours, I got my finishers certificate and a gift from Kelloggs! A cyclometer, I am really chuffed, I have been after one for ages but could only find expensive ones. It registers - Number of turns your wheel has taken; The time you have been travelling; The distance you have travelled; The maximum speed you reached; The average speed you were travelling; and, The cumulative distance you have travelled using your cyclometer. Thank you Kelloggs.
