Went to the sports centre for the Sunday ride, it was pouring down but I turned up anyway. Put my new Lake shoes on and rode around the car park testing my new pedals. They worked well I actually managed to get my feet in and out no problem. I just had a minor issue with my wheel squeeking, it seems to be rubbing on the brake pad. I waited for a while, but as nobody turned up, I gave up and went back home. I need to get my bike repaired or looked at anyway.
I decided to take my mountain bike for a spin instead, so went to the trail at Delamere Forest. Mistake, just a little one, I think I took the wrong track, I ended up sunk in mud, both me and my bike. I just struggled around for about an hour, then gave up. I was told the trail was mostly flat - no - it was steep climbs, lots of tree roots and constant mud baths.
It was fun anyway. Eventually it stopped raining, I cleaned my feet and bike as best as I could in a puddle. A little girl asked her mum, why I could stand in a puddle and she couldn't.
