Sunday Ride

The weather has been lovely and sunny today but with a slight breeze.  Perfect for a nice ride on my lovely bike.  The wind was rather cold when setting off, but once I got warm it was nice and fresh.
Decided to cycle to my friends Shirley's house, she lives in Weaverham 13.33 miles away, its a nice ride but as you get to Stockton Heath leaving Warrington, its uphill, first very steep then a longer drag as you go up the hill.  It's the A49 nearly all the way.  More hills with some nice dips to give you a break.  I stuck to the main road as really there aren't any quieter back roads to get there.  It was hard work at times but I am so chuffed, I managed to stay on my bike and seated all the way there and back, only stopping for lights and to cross the roads.  I didn't time myself going but got back in just under an hour, so I estimate 2 hours in total.   I stopped at Shirleys for a natter and cuppa which was a nice rest ready for the return journey.
